Quickstart

Follow these steps to jumpstart gameplay.

Using this quickstart is useful to those who've played the Social Justice Game before. Because this game resists Monopoly in many ways, reading the rules fully before playing the first time, to understand the ways it differs from Monopoly, will enrich gameplay.

1

Place Change Cards
Shuffle the Change Cards and place them on the board.

2

Assign Role Tokens

Assuming 4 players: place 1 blue Owner token, 1 purple Manager token, 1 green Employee token, and 1 red Unemployed token in a bag. Add additional Unemployed or Employee tokens as number of players increases.

Draw randomly to assign roles.

3

Assign Role Cards
Each player takes the Role Card matching the symbol on the movement token she drew. For example, if you draw the 'purple briefcase' token, you should take the 'purple briefcase' role card. This will help all players remember whose token is whose, should there be more than one of the same role on the board at one time.

4

Identify Your Movement Die
Each player uses the colored die which corresponds to the color of the token and card she drew — either red, green, purple, or blue.

5

Assign the Utilities
The Owner player begins the game owning the Enron Electric and Flint Water utilities.

6

Assign the Bank
Lay out the monies and properties in front of any player volunteering to be the Bank. The Bank then pays each player their first payday.

7

Read the Rules
Read the Rules of Play carefully to have the richest experience with the game.

8

Begin Play
Place player tokens on the Payday square and begin play. The Owner player moves first. Play then rotates clockwise around the board.
